Lillian Lucille "Connie? Bentrim, 72, of 725 G Avenue NW, Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, November 11, 2004, at Mercy Medical Center following a long illness. Services: 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 15, 2004, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service by Roseann Hayek of St. Matthews Catholic Church. Friends may call from 1-4 p.m., Sunday, November 14, 2004, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her three children, Gary (Denise) Bentrim of Solon, ALanda Bentrim of Cedar Rapids and Charlie (Roxanne) Bentrim of Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren, Jennifer (Scott) Slaton, Jerimie Maker, Matt Fritz, Ryan Bentrim, Lindsay Bentrim, Kristina "Took? Bentrim, Tiffany Bentrim, Brianna "Breezy Lil? Bentrim and Ty "Buck? Bentrim, four great-grandchildren, Rebecca Slaton, Zach Gudenkauf, Brady Slaton and Madison Phelps; and her dog, Heidi Sue.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents; two sons, Robert Jr., and Terry; and her grandmother, Minnie Gillispie.
Connie "the Irishman? was born March 19, 1932, the daughter of Sam and Elise (Gillispie) Ryan in Albia, Iowa. She married Bob Bentrim in 1949. He died in May of 1975. She was a homemaker and wonderful mother and grandmother. For many years, she worked at Rockwell-Collins until retiring in 1989. Connie enjoyed gardening and flowers.
