Lila M. Schenke

Lila M. Schenke, 89, formerly of Manchester, Iowa, died Tuesday morning, May 6, 2003, at the Edgewood Convalescent Home, Edgewood, Iowa, following a brief illness.
Friends may call on Wednesday, May 7, 2003, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester where a Scripture Service will be held at 6:00 pm by the Rev. Ralph Simington. Graveside committal services will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 10, 2003 in the Oakland Cemetery, Manchester.
Lila was born April 12, 1914 in Independence, Iowa to Martin J. & Ada L. (Hile) Mellody. Lila was married to Herman Hyde and they farmed near Masonville. The couple later divorced. On September 6, 1959, Lila married Victor Schenke at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Lila provided cleaning services for Manchester businesses and private residences. Victor passed away June 10, 1999. Lila moved to Edgewood in February of 2001.
Lila was a member of the St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Manchester.
She loved to dance and enjoyed raising and arranging flowers.
Lila is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Lila was preceded in death by her parents, Martin & Ada Mellody; her husband, Victor Schenke; two brothers, Harry and Edwin Mellody; and one sister, Venita Mellody.
