Lila Mae Offerman, 78, of Delaware died Monday, September 6, 2010 at her home.

Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 10, 2010 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester with Rev. John Flaherty. Visitation: 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 9, 2010 at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home in Manchester where there will be a 4:00 Wake Service. Additional visitation: one hour before services at the church on Friday. Inurnment: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 11 at the Pine View Cemetery, Delaware.

Lila was born November 12, 1931 in Worthington, the daughter of Paul and Cecila (Polfer) Kelchen. On June 12, 1951, Lila was united in marriage to Ralph J. Offerman at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester. The couple farmed in the Ryan and Manchester area. Lila worked as a waitress at Coles Café and Diny’s Steak House for more than 20 years.

Lila enjoyed traveling, having traveled to Florida, Colorado, Arizona, Las Vegas, and Washington DC. She enjoyed gardening and working in the yard and spending time with her grandchildren.

Lila is survived by seven children; Jaki Offerman of Colorado Springs, CO, Debi Shannon of New Smryna Beach, FL, Sam (Julie) Offerman of Charles City, Dave (Barb) Offerman of Manchester, Dr. Rick (Mary) Offerman of Richmond, VA, Jeff (Lisa) Offerman of Arlington, and Doug Offerman of Scottsdale, AZ; six grandchildren, Shane Shannon, Brock (Michelle) Burington, Brianne (Lucas) Hamann, Greg Offerman, Wes Offerman, and Thomas Offerman; one sister, Carol Thurn; sisters-in-law, Maxine Offerman, Anna (Don) Burns, Cecelia Behan, Deona Kelchen and Pat Kelchen.

Lila was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Cecila Kelchen, her husband Ralph Offerman in 2005; two brothers, Bob and Merle Kelchen; one sister, Velma Davis.
