LeRoy Paul Weber, 73, of Manchester, Iowa, died at his home on January 31, 2009, after a lengthy illness.
Memorial Mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester by Rev. John Flaherty. Friends may call from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 2, 2009 at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester, Iowa where there will be a 4:00 p.m. Scripture Service. Additional visitation, one hour before Mass at the church. Inurnment will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Manchester, at a later date.
LeRoy was born June 26, 1935 in Independence, the son of Lawrence and Philomena (Drilling) Weber. He attended school in Independence at St. Joseph’s and St. John’s High School, graduating in 1953. He served with the U.S. Army in Germany from October 1954 - 1956. On October 21, 1957, he was united in marriage to Clarice Fettkether at the Immaculate Conception Church in Gilbertville. The couple farmed in the Winthrop and Manchester area.
LeRoy was a very patient man. He enjoyed camping, tinkering around the farm, and his dog, “Cooper”. LeRoy loved his time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
LeRoy is survived by his wife, Clarice Weber of Manchester; his eight children, Peggy (Dave) Frentress of Dyersville, Becky (Dennis) Johnson of Manchester, Rick Weber of Manchester, Cheryl (Lynn) Stone of Edgewood, Bob Weber of Manchester, Ron (Lori) Weber of Manchester, Linda (Brad) Bird of Winthrop, and Jerry (fiancée, Laura Heth) of Manchester; one brother, Wayne (Jo) Weber of Jesup and one sister, Carol Bloes, of Sac City; and sixteen grandchildren.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Philomena Weber and one sister, Phyllis Milbach.
