Leroy Parson
June 17, 1938 — July 2, 2004
Leroy "Sam? Parson, 66, of 4433 Spoonbill Ct., died Friday, July 2, 2004, at his home, of cancer. Memorial Services:6:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2004, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Marionby Earl Soviak.
Survivors include his wife, Winnie of Marion; two daughters, Sherri L. Parson of Cedar Rapids and Terri L. Betzer and husband Jonn of Central City; a brother, William Parson of Marengo; three sisters, Betty Graesser and husband Leroy of West Amana, Rose Blount and husband Wayne of High Amana and Mary Conway of Cedar Rapids; and three grandchildren, Ryan, Arden Grace and Isabella Betzer, all of Central City.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Leroy was born June 17, 1938, the son of Wes and Elizabeth (Muesse) Parson in Iowa City, and was raised in the Amana Colonies. On May 3, 1958, he married Winifred "Winnie? Joyce Wetterling in Ladysmith, Wisconsin. Leroy worked for Divine Engineering Inc. as a welder. He was a member of the Congregation of Jehovah?s Witnesses.
Leroy was an avid woodworker, outdoorsman and gardener. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. He touched many lives in many different ways. Leroy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
