LeRoy R. Loveless, 89, of Marion passed away Sunday, January 3, 2016 at his home. Visitation: 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral Service: 10 a.m. Friday, January 8 at Grace Baptist Church located at 1461 East Post Road, Marion, Iowa 52302. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his children, Terry (Laura) Loveless of Marion and Doug (Renata) Loveless of Denver, Colorado; step-sons, Steven (Mary) Sykora of Key West, Florida and Ken (Jennifer) Sykora of Tucson, Arizona; sister, Sonya Frazier; grandchildren, Terry and Becky Loveless, Keyia, Jae, and Kayse Loveless; step-grandchildren, Amber Hodge, Jillian, Chelsey, and Matthew Sykora; and five great-grandchildren, Zeke, Keagan, Asher, Addy, and Blayz.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Steven Loveless; his second wife, Beverly; and six sisters.
LeRoy was born February 6, 1926 to LeRoy and Marjorie (Meyoks) Loveless. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II. LeRoy participated in the Battle of the Bulge and was awarded a Bronze Star and was also a Purple Heart recipient. He married Jean Jungjohann and they later divorced. LeRoy then married Beverly Brown on March 15, 1969 in North Liberty. He worked for many years as a machinist in Cedar Rapids. LeRoy especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
