LeRoy A. Hildebrand, 71, of Dyersville, formerly of Earlville, died Sunday, October 30, 2016. The Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, November 3, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Earlville, Iowa. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2016, 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Clifton – Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Earlville, with a 6:30 p.m. Scripture Service, and additional visitation from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Earlville.
LeRoy was born February 19, 1945, in Manchester, Iowa, the son of George and Francis (Nefzger) Hildebrand. On February 27, 1965, LeRoy married Marion Gudenkauf in Worthington, Iowa. Together they farmed, and LeRoy was also employed at Modernfold. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Dyersville American Legion Post. LeRoy enjoyed playing cards, camping, driving the country side, and visiting with the Amish. He collected John Deere tractors; he loved farming, milking cows, and raising cattle. LeRoy especially loved time spent with his children and grandchildren.
LeRoy is survived by his wife, Marion Hildebrand of Dyersville; children, Alan (Karen) Hildebrand of Earlville, Cherie (Jeff) White of Cedar Rapids, Charlotte (Brent) Williams of Waterloo, Glenn Hildebrand of Dyersville, Kim Kessler of Dubuque, Michelle (Jim) Salow of Earlville, Chad Hildebrand of Earlville, Dawn (Pat) Yackley of Chicago, Illinois, Crystal (Beau) Ellingson of Dyersville, and Jonathan Hildebrand of Manchester; twenty-six grandchildren; siblings, Katherine Heims of Earlville, Agnes Steffensmier of Earlville, Leon Hildebrand of Earlville, and Ronnie Hildebrand of Independence.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gary Hildebrand; siblings, Theresa May Monahan and Edward Hildebrand.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
