LeRoy "Roy? Hartman, 87, a resident of Heritage Nursing & Rehab Center, died Sunday, June 13, 2004, following a short illness. Services: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cedar Rapids by the Rev. Bill Harnish. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include a son, Robert L. Hartman and wife Diann of Naperville, Illinois; a daughter, Linda L. Michalec and husband Larry of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Gene Michalec, Cheryl Murley and Catherine Burns; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
Roy was born April 14, 1917, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Daniel and Sybil Hartman. Roy graduated from Old Washington High School in 1935. On November 19, 1938, he married Cleo J. Jones. She died in 1998. Roy worked for Wilson Foods for 42 years before retiring.
