LeRoy Altergott, 77, formerly of Earlville, passed away March 19, 2013 in Crystal Lake, IL.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 23, 2013 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Delaware by Rev. Donald Krause. Family will greet friends from 9:00 am - 10:00 am prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Earlville. Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Earlville is in charge of the arrangements.
LeRoy was born May 29, 1935 in Chicago, IL, the son of David and Marie Catherine (Kraemer) Altergott. On October 20, 1962, LeRoy was united in marriage to Louise Marie Ebert in Chicago, IL. The couple lived in McHenry, IL for many years, before moving to Earlville in 2001. LeRoy and Louise were married for 45 years, prior to Louise passing away in May 2008. LeRoy moved back to Harvard, IL in June 2012.
LeRoy was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Delaware. He worked for 50 years as a diesel mechanic for Terra Cotta Trucking Service in Crystal Lake, IL. LeRoy was a very simple man. He loved his "girls" (the cows he raised), tinkering on his tractors, working in his large garden and taking his produce to Farmers Market, fishing, hanging out with his family and his many "adopted" grandkids.
LeRoy is survived by three children, Nancy (Ed) Fisco of McHenry, IL, Linda (Ken) Tennant of Crystal Lake, IL and Kenneth (Patty) Altergott of Wonder Lake, IL; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; two sisters, Ruth and Dorothy.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his wife, Louise; his parents, David & Marie Altergott.
