Leone Misel, 103, of Keystone Cedars, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died there Thursday, March 15, 2007, following a short illness. Services: 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 19, 2007, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids by Deacon Lanny Peterson. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m., Sunday, March 18, 2007, at the funeral home. Burial: Marengo Cemetery, Marengo, Iowa.
Survivors include her special friends, Norma and John Latteyer of Shellsburg; sister-in-law, Louise Wagoner of Cedar Rapids; step-son, Mike Misel of LaJolla, California; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawerence; brother, John L. Wagner of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Una Supple; and special friend, Mabel Wagner.
Leone was born November 3, 1903, in Manchester, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Carrie (Strain) Forrester. On September 1, 1951, she was united in marriage to Lawerence Misel, in Cedar Rapids. He died January 15, 1971. At the age of 14 she began working at Quaker Oats retiring after 51 years of service at the age of 65.
Leone was a member of the Quaker Oats Retirees Club.
Leone enjoyed the many fun trips she took with her best friend, Mable Wagner, after her retirement and the special relationship she enjoyed with Norma and John.
