Leona A. Shedek
January 20, 1918 — February 8, 2007
Leona A. Shedek, 89, a resident of Winslow House Care Center in Marion, formerly of Springville, died Thursday, February 8, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 12, 2007, at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Springville. Visitation will be from 2 - 5 p.m. Sunday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Burial: Springville Cemetery.
Survivors include her children, Allen Shedek and wife Mary of Marion, Nancy McBurney and husband Ed of Bertram, Kevin Shedek and wife Joanne of Central City, and Keith Shedek and wife Penny of Hiawatha; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers; and three sisters.
Leona was born January 20, 1918, the daughter of Frank and Emma (Holub) Walker in Stuartville, Minnesota. On October 2, 1946, she married Robert G. Shedek. He died in November of 1993. Leona was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church in Springville.
A memorial fund has been established in Leona?s memory.
