Leona “Lee” N. Findley, 94, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Linn Manor Care Center in Marion, Iowa. Services will be given by Pastor Grant Hagen on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 520 Wilson Avenue SW, in Cedar Rapids, at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Linwood Cemetery.
Lee was born on June 17, 1923, to Elizabeth and Wesley Striegel in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She graduated from Wilson High School in Cedar Rapids and married Stan Findley on November 7, 1942. Stan and Lee owned and operated Stan’s TV for many years. They enjoyed many trips related to their business and to visit family in Arizona.
She is survived by two daughters; Connie Glick (Galen) of Marion and Peggy Neyens of Cedar Rapids. She had six grandchildren, Jodi Harris (John) of Marion, Johnny Stillions (deceased), Jamey Bixby and Brad Neyens (Rachel) of Cedar Rapids, Mike Glick (Alice) of Fairfax, and Shari Nechanicky of Chandler, Arizona. In addition, she had fifteen great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She also had a very special sister-in-law, Darlene Striegel and cousin, Patty Strope and many close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stan; son-in-law, John Stillions, Sr.; grandson, Johnny Stillions; and two brothers, Leonard and Edward.
She was a member of St. Mark’s Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids and the Moose Lodge.
Lee’s family would like to thank Above and Beyond Hospice, Mercy Hospice and Linn Manor Care Center for their loving care.
