Leona B. Holloway, 104, formerly of Center Point, Iowa, died Sunday, September 7, 2003, at Northbrook Manor Care Center, from complications of old age. Graveside Services: 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 12, 2003, at Center Point Cemetery, by the Rev. Mike Ellson. Friends may call Friday, September 12, 2003, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point.
Survivors include her grandchildren, Dennis (Shelly) Samuelson of Robins, Sheryl (Eric) Martinson of Chanute, Kansas, Denise King of Elkader, Sharm (Mary) Samuelson of Oelwein, Iowa, Kevin Holloway of Seattle, Washington, K. Paul (Kathryn) Holloway of Plainview, Texas and Hale (Heather) Holloway of Martinez, Georgia; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; her parents; Ossian and Nellie Mae Abbe; her children, Marjorie Samuelson and Don Holloway; and a sister, Laura Boisbert.
Born July 16, 1899, in Walker, Iowa, the daughter of Ossian Elgin and Nellie Mae (Maxison) Abbe. Leona married Floyd A. Holloway, on March 29, 1924, in Center Point, Iowa. He died in 1959. Leona was a housewife and had worked in the Armstrong?s Linen Department. She was a 50 year member of Easter Star and a member of United Methodist Church, Center Point. Leona loved cooking and will be greatly missed.
