Leon Hardy Rickard

Leon H. Rickard, 78, of Manchester, Iowa, died Monday, September 10, 2018. Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Bohnenkamp – Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester, conducted by Rev. Bill Quibell, with visitation one hour prior to service.
Leon was born July 18, 1940, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Chester and Loretta (Mefford) Rickard. He was a graduate of Waterloo East High and was employed with John Deere Works for 27 years. On December 10, 2004, Leon married Nancy Kay Woodruff in Manchester, Iowa. Leon enjoyed golf, bowling, westerns, and bird watching. He loved time spent with family and friends on Lake Delhi boating, partying with friends at the Pizza Place, and serving as the Honorary Grand Ponton of the Pecker Head Yacht Club. Leon was also a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Rickard of Delhi; children, Frank Rickard of Ohio, Tina Bentley of Ohio, and Tami Rickard of Cedar Falls; three grandchildren; a sister, Robin Aljamal of Florida; and two step-children, Tonya Smith and Tony Woodruff.
Leon was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Barbara Smith.
