Leo "Bud? W. White, 85, of Earlville, died Sunday, January 30, 2005 at Regional Medical Center in Manchester following a short illness.

Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Earlville by Rev. Herbert Tegeler. Friends may call from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Earlville where there will be a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Earlville.

Leo was born on January 7, 1920 the son of Leo H. and Lucy (Benn) White in Worthington. Leo attended school at St. Paul?s in Worthington. On September 27, 1943 Leo was united in marriage to Olive M. Sabers at St. Boniface Catholic Church in New Vienna. In August of 1942, Leo entered the United States Army serving during World War II in Germany and France. Upon discharge in 1945, he began farming south of Earlville.

Leo was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Earlville. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing and loved the outdoors.

Leo is survived by his wife, Olive White of Delhi; seven children, Joanne Quinlan of Manchester, Dianne (Neil) O?Brien of Bellevue, Dan (Kay) White of Worthington, John White of Earlville, Marie (Rocky) Tibbott of Delaware, and Dave White and Paul (Cathy) White, both of Earlville; a daughter-in-law, Mary White of North Carolina; twenty-six grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Sauser of Dubuque and Theresa (Paul) Rettinger of Richardson, TX; and a sister-in-law, Rosie White of Dyersville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Lucy White; two sons, Allen and Clarence White; a son-in-law, Harry Quinlan; one grandson, Chris Noel; two brothers, Gerald White and Aelred (Wiletta) White; and a brother-in-law, Joe Sauser.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
