Leo Stolba, 89, died Sunday, February 23, 2014. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. by Rev. Will Jackson at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.

Leo was born January 12, 1925, the son of Edward and Anna (Dvorak) Stolba in Cedar Rapids. On November 27, 1999, he married Carol Fatka at Salem United Methodist Church. Leo served with the U.S. Navy during WWII. He worked as a carpenter and mechanical drafter.

Survivors include his wife, Carol; his children, Teresa Stolba, Tim (Cara) Stolba, Jeri (Jerry) Robinson, Kimberly (Jasper) Boyd, Alison (Jason) Laube, and Stacie (James) Beckerman; eighteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two brothers, Louis (Gerry) and Bob (Marcella).

He was preceded in death by his parents; his previous wife of 31 years, Margaret Robinson; two children, Norma Jean Schuetzle and Kurt Stolba; five brothers; four sisters; and a great-grandson, Blake Stark.

He was a member of American Legion Hanford Post No. 5, Trojan Masonic Lodge No. 548 A.F. & A.M. of Marion and was a deacon at Calvin-Sinclair Presbyterian Church in Cedar Rapids.

A memorial fund has been established in Leo’s memory.
