Lena Serbousek, 92, a resident of Northbrook Manor Care Center, Cedar Rapids and formerly of Center Point, died Saturday evening, March 20, 2004, in St. Luke?s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a short illness. Services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point. Burial: Center Point Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Survivors include a son, Clarence Serbousek and wife Eileen of Robins, Iowa; a grandson, Dan Serbousek and wife Lorene of Atkins, Iowa; a granddaughter, Bonnie Niemeier and husband Bill of Walker, Iowa; three great-grandchildren, Shelby and Mitchell Serbousek and Mikala Niemeier; a sister, Dorothy Lovell and husband James of Alburnett; three sisters-in-law, Myrla Edaburn and Lillian Trunecek, both of Cedar Rapids and Mary Serbousek of Center Point; and a special friend, Rose Goodwin of Center Point.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lester; a brother, Raymond; and twin granddaughters, Heather and Melinda.
Born March 4, 1912, in Urbana, Iowa, to Charley and Kate Lindsey Edaburn, she married Lester Wes Serbousek on December 22, 1932, in Cedar Rapids. He died in 1990. She attended the Christian Church in Center Point. Lena enjoyed crafts, fishing, dancing, motorcycle rides and she loved her family.
