Leila M. Brennaman, 89, of Shellsburg, died Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Heritage Nursing & Rehab Center in Cedar Rapids. Services: 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 2, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Family will greet friends from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial: Shiloh Cemetery, Hiawatha.

Survivors include her children, Donna Becker of Shellsburg, Shirley (Rudy) Pitts of Apache Junction, AZ, and Daryl Brennaman of LaPorte City; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; a brother, Richard (Elda) Miller of Cedar Rapids; a sister, LaVonne Spicer of Omro, WI; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Miller of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; special friend, Al Voss; and several siblings.

Leila was born June 9, 1921 in Benton County, the daughter of Eugene A. and Veva (Hammond) Miller. She worked as an inspector at Collins Radio for over 20 years having helped on many of the electronic components that were key to the early NASA space missions. She will be remembered for her love of family, camping, fishing, and bowling.
