Lawrence "Larry? A. Rossman, 52, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, December 8, 2004, at home, following a long courageous battle with cancer. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 13, 2004, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Mr. Dan Hoeger. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Inurnment: Linwood Cemetery, Boone, at a later date.
Survivors include a son, Cody (Melissa) Rossman of Cedar Rapids; a grandson, Evan Rossman; his mother, Esther Rossman of Boone, Iowa; two brothers, Glen (Grace) Rossman of Baileys Harbor, Wisconsin, and Owen Rossman of New London, Iowa; a sister, Priscilla (Joe) Schwartz of Coon Rapids, Minnesota; and three nieces, Cinnamon, Tara and Angie Rossman.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cassidy Rossman; and his father, Calvin Rossman.
Larry was born December 26, 1951, the son of Calvin and Esther (Jensen) Rossman, in Des Moines, Iowa. He served in the Iowa Air National Guard from 1972-1980. A paramedic for over 30 years, Larry worked for the Johnson County Ambulance and the Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames. He was Past President of the Iowa SIDS Alliance and Past President of the Iowa Mud Racing Association. An EMS Instructor, Larry was very active in the EMS community around the state.
