Lawrence "Larry? P. Kelchen, 51, of Manchester, died Sunday, September 10, 2006 at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota following complications of a stem cell transplant.
Funeral Mass will be 11:00 Thursday, September 14, 2006 at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church in Ryan. Family will greet friends from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday with a scripture service at 2:00 and from 9-10 a.m. Thursday at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Ryan.
Larry was born September 15, 1954 in Manchester, the son of Lawrence J. and Florence E. (Hosch) Kelchen. He attended St. Patrick?s Parochial School in Ryan and graduated from Manchester High School in 1972. Larry was a life-long farmer.
Larry was an avid John Deere toy collector. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews.
Larry is survived by his mother, Florence Kelchen of Manchester; eight siblings, Sister Sharon Kelchen PBVM of Farley, Dorie Kelchen of Marion, Kay (Paul) Ostwinkle of Dyersville, Karen (Ken) Tobin of Worthington, Joe (Susan) Kelchen of Manchester, Jean (Dennis) Loesche of Dyersville, Jim (Mary) Kelchen of Manchester and Chris (Dean) Klostermann of Manchester; twenty-three nieces and nephews; and twenty great-nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Kelchen.
