The following is an exert from a poem written by Laverne’s grandson, Michael Peters:
And at my end
the sky called to me
come up with me dear friend,
Up where you can be free.
Down came the stars
to take my hand,
And lead me to a great,
tranquil land.
I went up to
my chosen place above
where the only feeling
is that of love.
The next time you go out
and look way up high,
Give a wink and make a wish.
You know that somewhere,
Up there
Am I..
Memorials may be directed to the Earlville United Parish Church in Earlville.
