Laurie E. Fulton, 53, of 330 Wilson Avenue S.W., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Saturday December 10, 2005, in St. Luke?s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, from lung cancer. A brief service will be held at 5 p.m., Monday, December 12, 2005, at the Elk?s Lodge, Cedar Rapids, followed by visitation until 8 p.m. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her parents; son, Kyle Henry of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Carrie Carver of Denver, Colorado, and Leslie (Dan) Daily of Cedar Rapids; and a brother, Rick Fulton of Denver, Colorado.
Also surviving is her fiancé, Paul Solar; nieces and nephews, Jade Opfer, Ashley Fulton, Rachel Daily, Jordan Carver and Genna Carver; and dog, Chowderhead.
Laurie was born June 10, 1952, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Chuck and Elaine (Jordan) Fulton. She graduated from Jefferson High School and Kirkwood College. In May 1982, she married Patrick Henry and they later divorced. For 33 years Laurie worked at Rockwell. Laurie loved yard work, gardening and her flowers. She enjoyed motorcycling and rode her bike to Sturgis, South Dakota in 2004, under the guidance of her good friend, Bill. She had many friends, liked to dance, party, and shop.
Laurie loved her family and friends who returned the love equally. Her greatest joy in life was her son, Kyle. She felt lucky to meet her fiancé, Paul, and they enjoyed good times together.
