Laurena M. Stutt, 84, a resident of Winslow House Care Center in Marion, formerly of Central City, died Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at the care center. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2008, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City by Rev. Jonna Jensen. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial: Mt. Clark Cemetery, Central City.
Survivors include her children, Elmer “Butch” (Joyce) Stutt of Marion, Larry (Verna) Stutt of Marion, Susan Stutt of Waterloo, and Nancy (Bill) Summers of Swisher; a sister, Betty Oltmanns of Hopkinton; a brother, Marion Wise of Oelwein; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers; and three sisters.
Laurena was born March 31, 1924, the daughter of LeRoy and Gertrude (Lund) Wise in Nebraska. On May 8, 1943, she married Elmer Stutt at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He died December 28, 1998.
She was a beloved wife and mother of her children, a homemaker, and involved in farming with her husband.
