Laura Lee Hawthorn, 50, of Manchester, Iowa, died Saturday, May 19, 2018. Memorial Gathering: 3:00 - 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Bohnenkamp – Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester.
Laura was born January 3, 1968, in Sacramento, California, the daughter of Carol Ann Staton. She lived most of her life in Manchester. Laura was a very loving, generous person who cared for others ahead of herself. She enjoyed long naps after joint committee meetings, gardening, IDTV, and most of all spending time with her family.
Laura is survived by her children, Misty Racz of Hilsboro, Texas, Rachel Montes (Jeffrey Harbaugh) of Dubuque, Tiffany Montes (Joseph Rogers), Malachi Montes, and Buddy Lee Montes of Manchester; her mother, Carol Ann Staton of Manchester; siblings, Jeffrey (Steph) Hawthorn of Kansas, and Gail Hawthorn of Manchester; ten grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and many lifelong friends.
Laura was preceded in death by her best friend, Donny Martin in 2014.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
