Laura Mae Bideaux (Tschiggfrie)

Laura Mae Bideaux, 78, of 202 16th Avenue SW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Friday, February 13, 2009, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a short illness. Services: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 17, 2009, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Del Bear. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday, February 16, 2009, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Kathy (Lamont) Myers of Cedar Rapids, Michael J. (Cindy) Bideaux of Robins, Michelle Hall of Cedar Rapids, M.J. “Zeke” (Cindy) Bideaux, Mark J. (Kris) Bideaux of Marion, Renee Bideaux of Cedar Rapids, Lori Bideaux of Cedar Rapids and Rebel (Rick) Rathje of Marion; and a brother, Floyd Tschiggfrie, Jr. of Dubuque.
Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, Kim Davenport, Brent Waltz, Heather Hugh, Jen Hall and fiance’ Ben, James Hall, Matthew Bideaux, Jeremy Bideaux, Abby Ries, Dan Ries, Mike Moody, Geno (Michelle) Moody, Angelica Rathje, Chelsea Rathje and Tanner Rathje and their companions; ten great grandchildren; a great great grandchild on the way; and her dog Clyde II.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, M.J. “Gunner”; sister, Darlene Lillie; and her dog Clyde I.
Born April 22, 1930, in Dubuque, Laura was the daughter of Floyd and Rose (Radloff) Tschiggfrie. On February 5, 1949, she was united in marriage to M.J. “Gunner” Bideaux. He died April 18, 2006.
Laura was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and Forty and Eight La Femmes. Some of her joys were traveling, planting posies and watching hummingbirds but her greatest joy was her family and friends which meant everything to her.
A memorial fund has been established in Laura’s memory.
