Laura Marie Anna Tschopp
August 1, 1924 — December 25, 2006
Laura M. A. Tschopp, 82, a resident of Village Ridge, Marion, died Monday, December 25, 2006, following a short illness. Services: 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 28, 2006, at St. Paul?s Lutheran Church at 915 27th Street in Marion, Iowa, by Rev. Donald Loesch. Graveside Services: 2:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Williamsburg. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3855 Katz Drive in Marion, Iowa (off of Highway 151).
She is survived by two daughters, LaVonne K. Wille of Lakeville, Minnesota and Becky A. Weed of Circle Pines, Minnesota; Gloria J. Wichmann, stepdaughter and husband Kenneth of Williamsburg; Kenneth Tschopp, stepson, and wife Susan of Marion, Iowa. In addition, there are seven grandchildren, Jeremy and Dawn Weed, Clint and Emily Wichmann and Daniel, Andrew and Stephen Tschopp. She is survived by two sisters, Genevieve Schumacher of Newhall, Iowa and Lillian Wiebold of Marengo, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Orville Wille in 1960 and, her second husband, Wayne Tschopp in 2000, her parents and one brother, Robert Heitshusen.
Laura was born August 1, 1924, near Williamsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Martin and Evelyn (Sandersfeld) Heitshusen.
Laura was a homemaker and volunteered for many years at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She enjoyed volunteering, baking, gardening and helping many people. She also worked cleaning homes and businesses for many years.
Laura was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall, Iowa for many years before moving to Village Ridge Assisted Living Center in 2005.
