Larry Lee Wright

Larry Wright, 68, a resident of Center Point, Iowa, for 45 years died Friday, November 7, 2008, in Santa Rosa, New Mexico, of an apparent heart attack while on his way to Tucson to visit his brother. Services: 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Walker, by Father Lloyd Reuter. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, November 11, 2008, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Jean Ann; his four children, Kim (Marty) Vine of Walker, Julie (Russ) Runyan of Johnston, Rick (Tami) Wright of Urbana and Sheryl (Matt) Wade of Center Point; nine grandchildren, Sondra, Spencer and Maria Vine, Jacob Runyan, Riley and Tiffani Wright, and Alyssa, Alex and Addilyn Wade; and two brothers, DeWayne (Kathy) Wright of Tucson and Willard (Laree) Wright of Center Point.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Bethel Wright.
Larry grew up in the Independence area and graduated from Independence High School. After graduation Larry worked at Collins Radio for 13 years. He then went to Link Belt where he worked until they closed their doors. Larry worked at Jensen Trucking and Bob Morarend Standard before starting at Reliable Machine from which he retired in 2005.
Larry was an avid golfer and spending time at Rolling Acres Golf Course was the highlight of his retirement years. He cherished both his time and friends at the golf course.
Larry was very proud of his children, of who they are, and what they stand for. He was also proud of his grandchildren. Although it was hard for him to keep up with all of them, he so enjoyed watching them grow and telling them how beautiful they are.
Instead of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Larry’s memory.
