Larry "Butch? Stewart Smith, 51, of 1616 Park Town Place N.E., died Friday, May 9, 2003, in his home, following a sudden illness. Memorial Services: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2003, at Faith United Methodist Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Kathleen R. Moore. A gathering of friends will perform Butch?s favorite music at 7:00 p.m. Saturday at the church. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his girlfriend, Pat Schabo of Cedar Rapids; and his brother, Kenneth Smith of Nashville, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was born July 31, 1951, in Oakridge, Tennessee, to Gordon and Lois Stewart Smith. He worked for U.S. Cellular as a customer service representative. Butch was a very talented musician, who played several instruments, and was well known in Tennessee and the Cedar Rapids area.
