Larry Lee Pernicka, Jr.
February 20, 1968 — April 27, 2003
Larry (J.R.) Lee Pernicka, Jr., 35, of 5160 16th Avenue SW, Cedar Rapids, passed away in his home, Sunday, April 27, 2003, after a courageous battle with liver disease. Services: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2003, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Pastor Diana Hoover. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at the funeral home. His ashes will be spread over the Rocky Mountains in Colorado at a later date.
Survivors include his parents, Kathy Sever of Cedar Rapids and Larry Pernicka, Sr. of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Tami Lyn (Darryl) Ray of Cedar Rapids; his maternal grandfather, Gene Sever, his paternal grandparents, Louis and Shirley Pernicka, all of Cedar Rapids; a niece, Katrina LeMae Ray; two nephews, Zequiel Sebastian Pernicka and Demetrius Alexander Ray; a stepniece, Delicha Marie Ray; and a stepnephew, Dane Edward Rupe.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Janice Mae Sever.
Larry was born February 20, 1968, the son of Larry Pernicka and Kathy Sever, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. For the last 20 years, he worked as a courier for Speedy Delivery Service. He was very adventureous and loved the outdoors. Larry enjoyed going fishing, mountain biking and hunting, especially bow hunting. He also enjoyed video games and photography. Larry was very much loved by his family and will be missed by all.
