Larry J. Hawker, 66, of Alburnett, died Tuesday, August 26, 2008, following a farm accident. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2008, at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Central City. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City. Burial: Mt. Clark Cemetery in Central City.
Survivors include his wife, Pat of Alburnett; three daughters, Christine (Ron) Clark of Marion, Diane (Darrin) Tippie of Williamsburg, and Kimberly Hawker (Lane Lacina) of Oxford; a brother, Donald (Kathy) Hawker of Central City; and six grandchildren, Austin Clark, Tayler Hawker, Kameryn Tippie, Whitney Tippie, Caleb Lacina, and Shelby Lacina.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Larry was born August 23, 1942, the son of Donald and Jennie (Annis) Hawker in Ryan. He married Patricia Martinsen on April 4, 1964, in Monticello. He was a lifelong truck driver and farmer.
Larry was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed farming, fishing, camping, hunting, and spending time with family.
A memorial fund has been established in Larry’s memory.
