Lanita Jean Hobbs

Lanita Jean Hobbs, 83, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home Monday, December 18th. A memorial service will be held at the Fairfax City Hall Community Room, 300 80th Street Court, Fairfax, Iowa, On Friday, December 22, 2017 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. All friends and family are welcome.
Lanita was born December 24, 1933 in Raccoon, Kentucky, the 7th of eight siblings. She started her career in education teaching in a one room schoolhouse and then worked as a librarian for several years.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Joy Hobbs of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and her daughter, Mary (Steve) Huber; granddaughters Madison and Morgan Huber, all of Fairfax, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and all her siblings, and a daughter, Rebecca Joy Richardson.
