Lamont Allen Myers, 69, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, December 13, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center. A memorial gathering will be from 3-6 p.m. Saturday, December 18, 2010, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. Entombment: Linwood Mausoleum, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy; his step-daughter, Kim (Mark) Naaktgeboren of Cedar Rapids; and his granddaughter, Shayna and great-grandson, Draydn of Cedar Rapids. Also surviving are children, Laura, William, and Brenda; four grandchildren; his brother, Douglas; and two sisters, Barbara and Joann.
Lamont was born February 26, 1941, the son of Russell and Viola (Saylor) Myers in Cedar Rapids. On April 3, 1981, he married Kathy Bideaux in Marion. He graduated from Wilson High School. He served with the U.S. Navy. Lamont worked at Cryovac for 30 years before retiring in 2003. He enjoyed going to the lake, traveling, fishing, and hunting with his best friend, Fred.
