Kristy Marie Heefner

Kristy Marie Heefner (Wallace), 45, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, went to be with her Lord and Savior and her two babies on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. In agreement with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Christian Life Church, located at 2808 Schaeffer Drive S.W., in Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends after the service. A private committal service will take place at a later date.
Kristy was born on August 9, 1978, in Iowa Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Dennis Michael and Linda “Liz” Sheryl (Tucker) O’Brien. She was a 1996 graduate of Linn-Mar High School. On March 25, 2000, Kristy was united in marriage to Mark Duane Heefner (Wallace) in Cedar Rapids. Being a mom was one of her proudest accomplishments. She always wanted to be a mom and she loved every minute. Kristy also had an undying love for her husband, Mark. Family was always most important to her. She always put others first before herself. Kristy was never selfish. She loved spending time with her family and friends, cooking, tending to her flower gardens, and listening to the birds. She had a sense of humor and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Kristy is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband of 23 years, Mark Heefner (Wallace); two children, Bradley (Lily) Wallace and Chloe Heefner (Wallace), both of Cedar Rapids; mother and step-father, Linda “Liz” (Warren “Bud”) Hinzie of Marion, Iowa; six siblings, Carrie (Kenny) Hardy of Houston, Texas, Kara Hinzie (Scott Beer) of Cedar Rapids, Christopher Hinzie of Cedar Rapids, Angie (Brian) Asbury of Rantoul, Kansas, Deborah (Brian) Branigan of Portland, Oregon, and Kim (Kevin) Burris of Paola, Kansas; 14 nieces and nephews; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; father, Dennis O’Brien; two beloved dogs, “Zoey” and “Scruffy”; and two grand-puppies, “Roofus” and “Frito”.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; two babies who didn’t make it during pregnancies; maternal grandparents-in-law, Chuck and Edna Wallace; paternal grandfather-in-law, Bud Heefner.
Memorials in Kristy’s memory may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date.
