Kristine Marie Watkins, 63, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Visitation: 4 – 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at All Saints Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids. Fr. Mark Osterhaus will officiate. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Kris was born February 28, 1958, in Manchester, Iowa, the daughter of Bernard and Rose Miller. She was raised in Manchester and was a 1976 graduate of West Delaware High School. On April 26, 2003, she was united in marriage to Charlie Watkins in Cedar Rapids and resided there until her death. Kris and Charlie loved to travel and made wonderful memories all over the world. Kris’ greatest joy was time spent with Charlie, her children, and her grandchildren.

Until her recent retirement, Kris worked as a realtor for Coldwell Banker Hedges Realty in Cedar Rapids. She loved helping her many buyers and sellers achieve their dreams of home ownership. Kris was also a huge Iowa Hawkeye football fan and could be found cheering loudly for them every Saturday.

Survivors include her husband, Charlie of Cedar Rapids; her four children, Kellie (Dan) Ruba of Dubuque, Iowa, Abby (Dan) Davis of Asbury, Iowa, Andy (Erin) Quint of Ankeny, Iowa, and Michael Quint of Iowa City; her five grandchildren, Natalie, Luke, and Nora Ruba, Beckett Davis, and Hailey Quint; her two brothers, Steven (Linda) Miller of Manchester, and Rick (Marilyn) Miller of Manchester; her brother-in-law, Skip (Deb) Watkins of Cedar Rapids; her sisters-in-law, Candy Woods of Cottonwood, Arizona, Clara (Ron) Schanbacher of Newhall, Iowa, and Connie Hoffman of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.

Kris was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Miller; grandparents, Oris and Etta Miller, and Richard and Christine McMahon; and parents, Bernard, and Rose Miller.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ann Stroh at Hall-Perrine Cancer Center and all the wonderful nurses and staff that cared for her there. Your unending compassion and beautiful care for Kris will never be forgotten and is greatly appreciated.
