Kristin Lynn Kolda, 51, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Central City, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016, at St. Luke’s Living Center East, New Horizons, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Central City conducted by Father Scott Boone. The family will greet friends one hour prior to mass at the church. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City, is assisting the family.
Kristin is survived by her parents, Harold and Judy Kolda of Central City; sister, Andrea (Eric) Dettbarn of Monona; brother, Kenneth (Cassie Mikhail) Kolda of Granite City, Illinois; nephew and niece, Dalton and Alexis Dettbarn; aunt, Sandra Ochs of Marion; uncle, Leonard Holub of Central City; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Kristin was born July 27, 1965, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Harold and Judy (Wolfe) Kolda. She attended Monroe Developmental Center. Kristin worked at Options of Linn County and REM. She liked music, shopping, and “boy watching”. She enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and being at New Horizons. Kristin was member of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church.
