Preceding her in death was her mother, Gloria Pura of Los Angeles.
Kristi was born July 13, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois. A student of Oak Park High School and graduate of Beverly Hills High School, Kristi moved to Mt. Vernon to pursue a degree at Cornell College.
Living life to the fullest, Kristi raised three sons, later graduated from Cornell, and pursued a post-graduate degree from the University of Iowa. She was known in her academic circles for her exquisite writing, thorough research, and inextinguishable desire to learn. School was one of her greatest joys.
Kristi also volunteered innumerable hours to better the community and world. Anyone who met her didn?t forget her and anyone that knew her will always remember her.
She was an inspiration to all around her because of her pure fight to express her ideas, beliefs, and accomplish her goals.
Kristi never lost faith in God or the greatness that man is capable of anything. She always believed the meaning of life is happiness and it is not how much you make, who you know, or where you live, but rather how you live and treat others.
