Kim Vogel, 53, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, December 22, 2013, at her home. There will be a private family gathering. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids..
Survivors include her mother, Sharon of Cedar Rapids; siblings, Mark Vogel and Brian Vogel both of Cedar Rapids and sister, Lori (Jim) Wilcoxson of Ely; and nieces and nephews, Jimmy Sara and Samantha Wilcoxson, Danielle and Bryce Vogel, Lily and Elliott Vogel and Alayna Schloss.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Kim was born on April 16, 1960, in Cedar Rapids, daughter of Richard R. and Sharon A. (West) Vogel. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1978, and also graduated from Kirkwood. Kim received her BA in child care. She worked at APAC until they closed, then she became a preschool teacher at HACAP. Kim enjoyed NASCAR, the Cubs, Green Bay Packers and the Hawkeyes. She loved to teach children, collected dolls and to cross stitch.
