Kim William Cornell, 46, of 1233 3rd St. NW, died Tuesday, June 24, 2003, in his sister?s home in Center Point, following a long illness. Graveside services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2003, at Center Point Cemetery, by the Rev. John Caughron. Military rites by Center Point American Legion. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point.
Survivors include a son, Kurtis William Cornell of Cedar Rapids; three brothers, Lenny (Sonjia) Cornell, Billy (Regina) Cornell, Jr., all of Cedar Rapids, and Wayne Cornell of Davenport; his sister, Kristi (Michael) Hall of Center Point; his grandmother, Ruth Cornell of Cedar Rapids; his nieces and nephews, Doug Cornell, Jeff Cornell, Angie Stocker, Chris Cornell and Josh Knockle; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Elliott Stocker, Kaylea Stocker, Zachery Cornell, Hannah Cornell and Bradley Cornell.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Jocelyn and Bill Cornell, Elizabeth and Wayne England, and James Cornell; and a brother, Michael.
Kim was born February 7, 1957, the son of Bill and Jocelyn England Cornell, Sr., in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He served in the United States Army. For 25 years, Kim has worked in the construction business. He was a member of the Teamsters Union.
Kim was a very creative person and a talented carpenter who also was a jack of all trades. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. Kim also loved to tell jokes. Kim was a beloved father and will be truly missed by his family and friends.
