Kevin L. Panek, 40, of Chicago, Illinois, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, March 10, 2006, in his father?s home. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2006 at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2006, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include a daughter, Jessica Jarnagin; a son, Andrew Jarnagin, both of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Kim (Paul) Kaune; a brother, Frank Panek, both of Cedar Rapids; his grandmother, Mary Halley of Chicago, Illinois; a niece, Makayla Kaune; and a nephew, Macormick Kaune.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy; his parents; a son, Mitchell Jarnagin; and his grandparents, Walter Halley, and Frank and Frances Panek.
Kevin was born October 5, 1965, the son of Richard and Patricia Panek, in Chicago, Illinois. He served in the United States Navy as a boiler technician. Kevin worked for the University of Chicago.
