Keri Lee Kulish, 29, of Toddville, passed away peacefully in her sleep, Monday, September 16, 2013. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 pm Friday, September 20, 2013, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, where a Scripture service will begin at 7 pm. Funeral Mass: 10:30 am. Saturday, September 21, 2013, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids. There will also be a visitation, before Mass, in the Gathering Space, from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the church. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her parents, John and Kim Kulish of Toddville; brother, Keith Kulish; her aunts and uncles, Carol Ries of Phoenix, Arizona, Juli and Chris Reed of Everett, Washington, Terri Crissinger of Mesa, Arizona, Steve and Chris Troendle of Swisher, Traci and Kevin Freeburg of Omaha, Nebraska; and many dear cousins and special friends.
Keri was born March 27, 1984, the daughter of John and Kim Kulish, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She graduated from Alburnett High School, Kirkwood Community College and the University of Northern Iowa, where she earned a Master’s Degree. A 27 year cancer survivor, Keri enjoyed being a “Big Sister” and teaching CCD classes. She interned in Germany and traveled world - wide. Keri worked for REM as a program coordinator and was an avid Rough Rider’s fan.
Those who knew Keri say she was the most loving, kind and selfless person they knew. She never met a stranger as she included everyone she met and made them feel special. She will be remembered for having a heart of gold and infectious giggle. Keri wanted to touch lives and make a difference. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Keri.
