Kent "Gibby" Gibbs
March 6, 1953 — October 25, 2024
Kent L. Gibbs, 71, of Delhi, Iowa, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024. Burial with Military Rites will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 15, 2024, at Fairview Cemetery, Earlville, Iowa. A Celebration of Life will follow from 12 to 3 p.m. at Delhi Landing in Delhi. Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Earlville assisted the family.
Kent was born on March 6, 1953, in Manchester, Iowa, the son of Clyde and Doris (Hartman) Gibbs. He graduated from West Delaware High School in 1971. He worked for local farmer before entering into the United States Army, where he proudly served our country. Kent married Edith McDill in 1975, she preceded him in death and married Maxine in 1981 and she also preceded him in death. He worked for Bradco in Delhi until his retirement and then drove for the Amish. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, collecting eagles, and enjoying a cold beer.
Kent is survived by his siblings, Gary Gibbs of Des Moines, Iowa, Terry Gibbs of Muscatine, Iowa, Diane Welte of Bettendorf, Iowa, Lana Young and Laurie Becker both of Delhi; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Doris Gibbs; his two wives, Edith and Maxine; daughters, Jessica Gibbs, Jennifer Manson; and siblings, Beverly Skaja and Deborah Morehouse.
