Kenneth Eugene Winslow, 67, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, February 13, 2015, at Northbrook Manor Nursing Home, of pancreatic cancer. First visitation: 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 16, 2015, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Marion. Second visitation: 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at Behner Funeral Home, Fairfield, Iowa. Funeral service: 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at Behner Funeral Home, Fairfield, Iowa, with Pastor Chris Fiske officiating. Please come in casual attire per Ken’s request. Burial: Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield.
Kenneth was born July 13, 1947 in Fairfield, Iowa, to his parents Eugene Charles and Evelyn Fern (Eckwall) Winslow. He graduated from Fairfield High School and Indian Hills Community College and became a technical engineer for Rockwell Collins, retiring after 35 years in 2002. He married Marcia L. Smith in Asbury, Iowa, on August 5, 1983.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia Smith of Cedar Rapids; his son, Steve (Kim) Winslow and grandchildren Brittany, Erica and Austin Winslow, all of Fairfield. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Cindy.
Kenneth enjoyed fishing, woodworking, John Deere tractors, was an avid NASCAR fan and was a handyman – “could fix anything” or “build anything”.
