Kenneth L. Street, 58, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, September 17, 2006, at home of natural causes. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2006, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Jonathan Offt. The family will greet friends from 6 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, September 19, 2006, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Graveside Service: 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2006, at Sorden Cemetery, Webster, Iowa, with military honors.
Survivors include his four children, Kendall (Janine) Street of Swisher, Carmen (Chris) Weiland, Erik Street, and Krista (Jake) Swyers all of Cedar Rapids; his mother Patricia (Don) Claypool of South English; former wife, Darlene Street of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Alisa, Haley, Jared, Ara and Jack; and two brothers, Richard Street of Arizona and Denny Street of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Kenneth was born July 8, 1948, in Sigourney, Iowa, the son of Dwight and Patricia (Darling) Street. He graduated from English Valley High School in 1966. On January 11, 1968, he was united in marriage to Darlene Collingwood. They later divorced. For 30 years he was a postal carrier for the United States Postal Service. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Kenneth drove school bus and volunteered at College Community Schools athletic department and played in the Cedar Rapids Fast Pitch Softball league.
