Kenneth Schriner, 77, of 5315 Harbet Ave NW, died Monday, October 21, 2002 in Alamo, Texas, following a heart attack. Services: 9:30 a.m. Saturday, October 26, 2002, at St. Judes Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Richard Ament. Burial: St. Joseph?s Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 25, 2002, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, where a Scripture Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Miliary rites by VFW 788.

Survivors include his wife, Lucy "Betty?; a daughter, Mary Ellen Jones of Portland, Oregon; a son, John Schriner and wife DeAnn of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Glenn Schriner of Belle Plaine.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Louise Beck and Dorothy Kepler.

Kenneth was born the son of William L. and Doris E. Bauer Schriner in Belle Plaine, Iowa, on February 25, 1925. On August 19, 1946, he married Lucy Boyd in Belle Plaine. He served with the Navy during World War II. Kenneth worked for Wilson & Company for 30 years and was a Linn County Supervisor for 13 years, retiring in 1990. He also was a member of the VFW Post 788.
