Kenneth F. Lint

Kenneth F. Lint, 76, a resident of Living Center West, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and formerly of Ely, died Saturday, October 25, 2008, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following an extended illness. Services: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Father Tom McDermott. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, October 28, 2008, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his daughter Cassandra “Sandy” (Rick) Tucker; step children, Sharon (Joe) Stallman, Matt (Janice) Rowland, Mark Rowland and Kathy Plotz; grandson, Craig Tucker; nephew, Gordan (Nancy) Little; niece, Regina (Mike) Burkart; and his faithful dog Pepe.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 32 years, Joyce; sister, LaVonne Little; and his companion of 25 years, Ruth Rowland.
Born December 20, 1931, in Shellsburg, Iowa, to Roy and Eudora (Mullinex) Lint, he married Joyce Eakle on June 25, 1950, in Cedar Rapids. She died in 1982. He began working for Allis Chalmers as a welder at the age of 16 and retired from Harnischfeger P&H after 40 years. After retiring, he worked for Jim Vislisel, enjoying the farm and a long friendship.
Kenneth lived in the Cedar Rapids Ely area all his life. His family and friends were a special joy to him. He also enjoyed working on cars, playing cards, fishing, riding his motorcycle, gambling and practical jokes.
A memorial fund has been established in Kenneth’s memory.
