Kenneth “Ken” J. Lowen, 78, of Pensacola Florida, died Saturday, September 15, 2018. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2018, at Mt. Clark Cemetery, Central City, Iowa. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City, Iowa.
Ken was born June 2, 1940, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, the son of Earl J. and Eileen (Boyd) Lowen. He grew up in West Bloomfield, Michigan, on Cass Lake with his brothers and sisters and many friends. Ken graduated high school in West Bloomfield in 1958. On July 15, 1961, He was united in marriage to Linda Carpenter. Ken served honorably in the United States Navy for twenty-seven years, retiring in 1986. He then worked for Ingersoll Rand for fifteen years. Ken always lived life to the fullest. He traveled the world with the Navy. Ken enjoyed many adventures whether it was hanging out at the beach with his wife and kids or trudging through the rain forests of Panama. He loved serving with the United States submarine service and the many people associated with it. Ken loved everything to do with motorcycles and all things computer related. Most of all, he loved his wife, children, and family members.
Ken is survived by his wife Linda; three children, Kenny, Trish, and Mary; six grandchildren, Shane, Jaime, Brian, Cody, Shelby, and Arthur; one great-grandchild, Finn; siblings, Earl Lowen of Kimball, Michigan, Thomas Lowen of Ft. Meyers, Florida, Donald Lowen of Bryan, Michigan, Marleen Holcomb of White Lake, Michigan, Leonard Lowen of Lakeland, Florida, and Dawn Brauniger of Walled Lake, Michigan; many nieces and nephews and many Navy and civilian friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Eileen; and brother, Eddie Lowen.
