Kenneth 'Ken' Roger Kalous

Kenneth “Ken” Roger Kalous, 80, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2022. Patricia “Patty” (Vomacka) Kalous, 71, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023. A joint celebration of life for Ken and Patty will be held from 1 – 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood in Cedar Rapids.
Ken was born February 28, 1942, in Ely, Iowa, the son of Robert and Helen (Netolicky) Kalous. He graduated from Prairie High School. Ken was united in marriage to Patricia “Patty” Vomacka on February 28, 2006, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Rathje Construction. Ken will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia “Patty” Kalous; step-son, Jason (Mary) Powers; daughters, Kristine (Clayton) Moore and Kara Kalous; grandchildren, Caitlin (Brandon) Bickford, Jack Powers, Terrell Sykes, and Braylon Briscoe; great-grandchildren, Emmet, Irie, Emersyn, and Oaklen; brothers, Lee (Donna) Kalous and Duane (Carol) Kalous; sisters-in-law, Linda Hasson and Mary Vomacka; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents.
