A Celebration of Life for Ken Jackson will be March 24, 2018, from 2 – 5 p.m. at the Elks Lodge 251, 801 33rd Avenue SW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Family and friends are welcome.
Kenneth Dean Jackson, 77, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 2, 2018, after a battle with cancer. His dear friend Marian, who had cared for him over the past year, was by his side.
Ken was born July 14, 1940, and was adopted by Ray and Mable Jackson of Scranton, Iowa in December of 1940 at the age of five months. Ken grew up around Scranton and graduated from Scranton High School in 1958. On September 4, 1964, he married Gerrie Holmes and lived and worked in Cedar Rapids until her passing. Ken loved people and enjoyed sharing his time and talents with them. He especially loved dancing with his special friend Marian Wichman. Ken has donated his body to the University of Iowa for science. There will be no funeral per his wishes.
Ken is survived by his special friend, Marian Wichman of Cedar Rapids; sister, Rebecca Franzeen of Coon Rapids, Iowa; sister-in-law, June Jackson from Texas; two nieces, Renee Jackson and Kris Bergene both of Irving, Texas; two nephews, Sid (Cindy) Franzeen of Scranton, Iowa and Craig (Nancy) Franzeen of Guthrie Center, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Mable Jackson; and Brother John Jackson.
Memorials may be directed to Hope Lutheran Church or Elks 251of Cedar Rapids.
