Kenneth Richard "Dick? McMillen, 69, of Walker, died Monday, April 4, 2005, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, Iowa City, following a short illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2005, at Walker United Methodist Church, Walker, by the Rev. David Siler. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2005, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Walker. Burial: Walker Cemetery, Walker.

Survivors include his wife, Rose; daughter, Julie (Shane) Fuessley of Walker; son, Kelly McMillen of Walker and Karen Klinghammer of Marion; four grandchildren, Aprill (Steve) Graham, Noah McMillen, Miranda Fuessley and Jordan Fuessley; three great-grandchildren, Andrew, Nathaniel, and Jackson Graham; two sisters, Carol (Phil) Snitkey of Clive, Iowa and Sherry McKee of Walker; a brother, Marlo McMillen of Cedar Rapids; and a special friend, Skippy, his cat.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Claudia.

Dick was born October 13, 1935, the son of Kenneth and Marion Klutz McMillen, in Quasqueton, Iowa. On August 3, 1957, he was united in marriage to Rose Valenta in Walker. After serving with the United States Army, Dick worked as a buyer for Collins and Intermec. For over 20 years, he served on the Walker City Council. Dick was a member of the Rob Morris Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star and a 50-yr member of the Walker United Methodist Church.

A memorial fund has been established in memory of Dick.
