Kenneth R. Billhorn, 86, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha, Iowa.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 23, 2013 at First Lutheran Church in Manchester by Rev. Tony D. Ede and Rev. Dr. Jean Rabary. Visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 22, 2013 at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Manchester. Additional visitation, one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Manchester.
Ken was born June 19, 1927 in Manchester, the son of Roy and Hilda (Lubben) Billhorn. On August 23, 1949, he was united in marriage to Vonda Nodurft in Strawberry Point, IA.
Ken worked for 43 years at Emerson Feed and Grain and Simon’s Feed and Grain weighing grain, loading and unloading trucks. He enjoyed his hobby farm at the “OK Corral”, dancing, cards and going to the casino.
Ken is survived by his wife, Vonda of 64 years; three children, Bonnie Billhorn and Gloria (Lyle) Kluesner both of Manchester, and Kathryn Petersen of Clinton, TN; seven grandchildren, Scott (Cherie) Delperdang, Shaun (Nicole) Flanagan and Brynne Flanagan, Justin and Joel Kluesner, and Sara (Alan) Pinkerton and Elizabeth “Liz” Petersen; and six great-grandchildren.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Chad Delperdang; and a sister, Vera Uptegraph.
